The new terminal will be part of the TLC “Selyatino”, the press service of the governor and government of the Moscow region.

“I would like to welcome our friends who have come from China, Kazakh partners, brothers. It is very pleasant when important opportunities for cooperation are outlined at the highest level – by our President, Mr. Xi Jinping, the President of Kazakhstan. And it is especially pleasant when they are realized in our country. For the Moscow region, the topic of logistics, transportation, job creation, investment – all this is fundamentally important, – said Andrey Vorobyov. – I know that all three parties are working shoulder to shoulder to ensure that every year we see the results – both economic and technological successes. This is an important project for us also because it provides additional export opportunities for our small and medium-sized businesses. I would like to wish all participants of this project success. Have a good journey!”.

After the implementation of the second stage, 40% of all agro-industrial complex exports from the Moscow region will pass through TLC Selyatino. And exports with China will triple – from 180 thousand tons to 550 thousand tons. 1.5 thousand new jobs will be created.

“In 2013, President Xi Jinping launched a major initiative to jointly build ‘One Belt and One Road’ in Astana. Russia and Kazakhstan were the first countries to respond and actively participate. ‘…’ This time, the Selyatino logistics complex project will be implemented jointly with the Russian transportation company Slavtrans-Service and Kazakhstan Railways. It will become an important logistics hub for the three countries. Many categories of goods will pass from the Moscow region through Kazakhstan and arrive in Xi’an in less than 10 days, creating an even more convenient and stable trade channel. ‘…’With the strong support of Russia and Kazakhstan, we will build a modern international logistics system in Europe and Asia,” said Sun Yiming, secretary of the Party Committee of Xi’an Changba International Port of Xi’an.

Today, the first container train “HUB to HUB” of a new joint project of Russia, China and Kazakhstan set off from Selyatino to the Sino-Kazakhstani logistics terminal located in Xi’an (PRC) – this is 50 containers of Russian products, including those from the Moscow region. From confectionery to building materials.

“Today we are starting a big project. We are working with Russian and Chinese partners. Kazakhstan invests a lot of resources in the development of transit potential. In recent years – 35 billion dollars. During this time, the level of transit along the main corridors to Russia and China through Kazakhstan has increased 7 times. The implementation of this project will provide a number of advantages in transshipment and cargo handling, including for Kazakhstani shippers, will have a positive impact on delivery times, and will contribute to medium- and long-term planning of container transportation. The joint venture will maximize the potential of the project participants and expand the range of services in logistics and terminal activities”, – said Nurlan Sauranbayev.

The Selyatino dry port is one of the largest in the Moscow region. It is a universal complex consisting of refrigerated warehouses (42 thousand tons) combined with the largest railway container terminal in the Moscow region. The capacity of the container park is 22 thousand TEU. Cargoes from different regions of Russia and foreign countries are delivered both by rail and road transport. In addition, backloading is organized. The plans this year are to receive and send almost 19 million tons of cargo.

“Transit through Kazakhstan is provided by KTZh, while the Xi’an port, located in Shaanxi Province, is responsible for dispatching trains with state support measures. Historically, this is the beginning of the Silk Road, the center of China, where products from the main shipping regions are brought. The Moscow Region is actually becoming the flagship of Russian exports to China. This is the most promising market. We give our Kazakh and Chinese partners preferential working conditions. The first train will arrive in China in 13 days, for comparison it would take 60 days by deep sea, – said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC “Slavtrans-Service” Andrey Golandtsev. – Now we have already created a container yard and are starting the construction of a warehouse for consolidation of finished products for back-loading. “Selyatino” will become a place of attraction for exporters from all over Russia”.

The project also includes the construction of a highway that will take transit traffic out of Selyatino. Its route is still under discussion. Residents are concerned about trucks passing through the village. The bypass road will solve all the issues. How exactly, people will be told at a meeting to be held in the near future.

The region ranks 1st in the Russian Federation in exports of dairy products, meat, beverages, processed fruits and vegetables. Some of the main export partners of the Moscow region are Belarus, Kazakhstan and China. For example, last year exports of Moscow Region ice cream to China increased 24 times.

In addition to TLC “Selyatino”, the Moscow region also has dry ports “Vostochny” in Bogorodsky district, “Bely Rast” in Dmitrov, “Elektrougli”, etc.
